The black pages create a sense of the cinematic and the 20th century fetish for the "cult of personality". It was if these historic figures went to Hollywood and that somehow made them more accessible to 21st century minds. We urge you to do some research on mounting your 16x20 or larger prints. You will need a substrate that is extremely rigid so the prints don't bow and bend in a way that disappoints you. Artists have been mounting on 1/2 gatorboard (it comes in black), aluminum and sintra to make sure the prints stay flat and perfect. There is a service bureau in Green Bay call Green Bay Blue so you could call them for a quote and also check local framers to see if they can mount large prints. The quality of the book in overall is fantastic. I think that your images turned out so well and the printing was amazing. As far as your senior presentation goes, I did like the set up you had and showed to Cathy Cook, but I agree with Ali and think about the possibility of printing these images really big! The images are beautiful and I think it is totally worth it, I also think it adds to the idea of greatness of the characters.

It is kind of funny how you mention the white gloves, I was literally nervous to touch it.
Good job!!!!Mari Ayalahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12532484996238318555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5937402881269339059.post-46929890868082527822012-03-14T12:00:47.351-07:002012-03-14T12:00:47.351-07:00I think your book turned out really well. congrats...I think your book turned out really well. congrats!!!! I had the same worries with the consistency with the blacks in my images, and I think blub did a pretty good job. I'm also excited to see what you come up with as a presentation in the senior show for your images. I really like all the selected images you have and I WANT THEM ALL TO BE BIG! but alas... we only have 14 ft. of wall space. I"m sure you'll figure something out thats beautiful and says exactly what you want it to about your work. :)Photographer Ali & Poet Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10925316984440277803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5937402881269339059.post-5535030867747437232012-03-13T22:49:56.129-07:002012-03-13T22:49:56.129-07:00Hillary, I was extremely pleased to see how beauti...Hillary, I was extremely pleased to see how beautiful your book turned out! After seeing your book, I was so inspired that I also decided to use BookSmart, rather than Lulu. Although I was slightly hesitant about BookSmart and more confident about Lulu (since I had previously used it to print my first book), I do not want to rely on them anymore after this experience! I was quite disappointed on how my photographs turned out. Hence, after seeing your book, I actually regretted that I had not used BookSmart in the first place!
Nonetheless, I am very excited to see your work at the Senior exhibition, as it will be a completely different experience viewing your work in an actual gallery space, than during a Final critique! Best of luck!Anam Shahidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14069172663205003679noreply@blogger.com
